Job photos

Every photo lands on the right job

Tap the camera, pick the job, shoot. Each photo files under that job by the day it was taken, with a note on it. The panel photo from last month is on that job, not somewhere in your camera roll.

  • The camera stays open for a run of shots. Add a note to each one as you go, typed or spoken.
  • Photos from your camera roll file under the day they were taken.
  • On a computer, drag them in. iPhone photos open on Windows too.
The camera button on a phone asking which job the photo is for, with the job list: 2210 Cedarwood Lane, 46 Brookfield Place, 1907 Ash Road and more.
Photo markup

Mark it up before you send it

Circle the problem, add an arrow, write on the photo, then send it to the customer or the crew. The original is kept, so you can always go back to it.

  • Arrows, circles, boxes, lines, a pen and text, in seven colours. Crop, rotate and download.
  • The note stays with the photo, so you know why you took it six months later.
  • Deleted photos go to Recently deleted first, so one wrong tap doesn't lose anything.
The photo markup tools on a new 200 A panel: an arrow to the EV charger's 60 A breaker, and the main breaker circled and labelled 200 A main.
Plan markup

Count the devices on the plan

Open the plan PDF and place receptacles, lights and switches with the symbols an inspector already reads. The count builds as you go.

  • The scale is read off the drawing, so every measurement is a real one.
  • Draw the switch legs and it works out the 3-ways and gangs the boxes.
  • Copy the count into your quote, download it as a spreadsheet, or export the marked up plan as a PDF for the crew.
A one storey house plan marked up in SparkSheet: pot lights, pendants and ceiling lights in every room, receptacles, smoke and CO alarms, the panel, and dashed switch legs from each switch, with 3-ways in the hall and kitchen. The materials list for that plan: 17 duplex receptacles, 8 GFCI, 2 240 V receptacles, 12 pot lights, 3 pendants, 4 surface ceiling lights, 3 smoke and CO alarms, 11 switches, 3 three-ways and a 3-way dimmer, with the switch boxes ganged automatically.

Questions

Before you sign up

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. There is a free Android app on Google Play, and the iPhone app is in review with the App Store. Plan markup is easier on a laptop or a tablet.

Do I need a card for the free trial?

Yes. You add a card when you sign up and nothing is charged for 30 days. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.

What happens to my photos if I cancel?

They stay yours. Your plan runs to the end of what you paid for. After that you can still sign in, open your jobs and photos, and download everything.

Can my crew use it?

Yes. Plans go up to 3, 10, 25 or 50 people. One price for the crew, invite people with a link, and everyone works on the same jobs. Change the size any time from the Account page.

Is the load calculation built to the current code?

Yes. It follows CEC 2024 and shows the rule beside every line so it can be checked. SparkSheet is an independent tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by CSA Group, and calculations are yours to verify against the edition your jurisdiction has adopted.

Why does this exist?

We run an electrical company on Vancouver Island and built these for our own crew. The load calc spreadsheet everyone passes around was a mess, panel schedules were getting hand written twice, and we were tired of paying per person for a photo app. They've held up on our jobs, so we're sharing them.
